CEO, artists, activist, academic, and mom - 5 powerful young Asian women gather in conversation to go beyond the prescriptive analysis and dive into feelings for collective healing. For Asian women, LGBTQ, men and our allies, we want everyone here.
In trauma recovery, the work can be roughly split into 3 segments: stabilizing symptoms, recounting trauma, building healthy relationships. Recounting trauma takes the adeptness of identifying feelings, the language to name the trauma, and witness to hear the story.
Led by PTSD survivor Lien Chen, 5 powerful young Asian women gather in conversation to undertake the work of healing for the community by recounting our traumas.
Through intimate and thoughtful talk around long-buried experiences with hyper sexualization, the confusion of racial identity and sexual vulnerability intersecting publicly for the first time, and piecing together the puzzle of our intrusive feelings and thoughts, our group looks to find the language and begin a collective narrative for Asian women.
As a historically muted topic in our community, we want to invite everyone to bring your male friends and non-Asian allies to listen in on the conversation. In this way, Asian women can all be empowered to own our stories, to tell our stories, and to begin a new narrative.
